Communion of Saints by Carlo Aguilar at CFC-Youth Campus Based November 2015 General Assembly at SFU Burnaby
November 1st – All Saints Day. Feast Day that celebrates all the souls that have gone to heaven.
Pope Boniface IV started a day dedicated to saints each year(He consecrated the Pantheon at Rome to the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the martyrs). Pope Gregory III started All Saints day and made it November 1st.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” – Hebrews 12:1 – St Paul was talking about saints, a cloud of witnesses in heaven.
He continues in his first letter to the Thessalonians
“You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia” – 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7
Imitators of us, “us” refers to the saints.

-Single, married, religious and the fourth vocation is for everyone: Holiness!!
The reason for any saints canonization would be that they walked the walk and talked the talk. There was never a saint who walked without purpose. In Canada today, we don’t have guns pointed at our heads to disregard our fate. However, we are often sidetracked by distractions.
Saints are in heaven and they have a deeper knowledge of love because they are with God.
Who is your patron saint?
What are you doing to bring yourself and others towards sainthood?
